Bring your mister! Calathea love humidity and they will love you if you give them a frequent spritz! They thrive in bright, but indirect light and prefer their soil to stay just slightly damp at all times. They’re great communicators, and will definitely let you know when they’re thirsty. Members of the prayer plant family, their leaves turn upwards at sundown, showing off their deep, metallic purple undersides, then reopen in the morning like the opening and closing of praying hands.


LIGHT
Prefers bright, filtered light. Do not expose to direct sunlight

WATER
Keep soil evenly moist. These plants prefers moist but not soggy soil.



TEMP
These plants love humidity. A lack of humidity can lead to a lot of issues, including crisping leaves and a higher susceptibility to spider mites. You can increase your humidity with a humidifier, misting the plant, keeping it in your bathroom (so long as there is enough light), or by placing it on a pebble tray.
